After his wife suffered burns all over her body in a car accident, Dr. Robert Ledgard, an eminent plastic surgeon, devoted years of study and experimentation to the development of a new skin that could save her; it is a skin that is sensitive to caresses, but functions as a real armor against all kinds of aggressions, both external and internal.
To put this revolutionary discovery into practice, it is necessary to have no scruples, and Ledgard has none. But he also needs a human guinea pig and an accomplice. Marilia, the woman who has taken care of him since he was a child, is doggishly faithful: she will never let him down. The problem will be to find the human guinea pig.
