Galicia is currently the setting for the filming of After the Eclipse (Route to the Stars), a documentary directed by Alba Prol and produced by Meteórica Cine in co-production with Abano Produccións. The project follows the journey of Galician scientist Begoña Vila during some of the most significant moments of NASA's Nancy Grace Roman mission, combining her professional dimension with the more personal perspective of her return to Galicia.Filming took place at various NASA facilities in the United States and is now continuing at several locations in Galicia, coinciding with an exceptional event: the total solar eclipse. Begoña Vila's presence in Galicia during these days will allow the documentary to incorporate a particularly significant moment in her story, also tied to her reunion with her homeland, her family, and her closest circle. The film thus offers an approach to the figure of one of the Galician scientists with the greatest international projection, while connecting research, science, and territory through an audiovisual production with an international vocation. After the Eclipse (Destination: The Stars) received a grant of 120,000 euros through the audiovisual production grants from the Galician Agency for Cultural Industries.
