Santa Cruz's castle was built in the 16th century with the aim of enhancing the defensive system of A Coruña's bay. It is located on an islet connected to the Santa Cruz harbor by a pedestrian walkway. Declared a Cultural Heritage Site for its high historical interest, along with its natural beauty and scenic surroundings, this place is an extraordinary spot. The castle, which is public property, houses an exhibition hall.
