San Cibrao de Las' hillfort

Add to my bookmark list

The archaeological site of San Cibrao de Las stands out for its extensive area, covering approximately 10 hectares, and for its well-preserved condition. Its overall morphology presents two walled enclosures: the 'croa,' or upper enclosure, and the lower enclosure, which is larger and houses the habitation area of the site. A single cobbled street runs through the enclosures from east to west. It is a representative hillfort from the final stage of the Castro culture, inhabited from the 2nd century BCE to the 2nd century CE, with residual occupations during the 3rd and 4th centuries CE.
