The Miño River flows through a deep canyon near Belesar, where its walls are covered with vineyards planted in terraces or slopes. Along its slopes, we can also admire monasteries and Romanesque churches, as well as viewpoints scattered throughout. But not all the remarkable features of the Miño's banks are above water level; many villages were submerged after the construction of the Belesar and Os Peares reservoirs. It is a navigable river, and you will find several docks along its course. One of the most significant is the Belesar dock. The canyon extends through the municipalities of A Pobra do Brollón, Carballedo, Chantada, Monforte de Lemos, O Saviñao, Patón, Ribas de Sil, and Sober.
