The granitic stone and the palette of greens across the 30,000 hectares of the Baixa Limia-Xurés Natural Park stand out in a landscape that blends rugged and gentle mountain ranges, with an average altitude exceeding 1,000 meters. Officially recognized in 1993, it is the largest of the six natural parks in Galicia.
Together with the neighboring Peneda-Gerês National Park, it forms the core of the Gerês-Xurés Transboundary Biosphere Reserve. This park encompasses the municipalities of Entrimo, Lobios, Muíños, Lobeira, Bande, and Calvos de Randín.
