Cathedral of Santa María (Saint Mary's Cathedral in Tui)

The construction began at the end of the 11th century. The Romanesque floor plan and capitals would influence the entire region of the medieval bishopric of Tui, spanning from the Lima River to the Vigo Estuary. The Gothic cloister, dating from the second half of the 13th century, is the largest preserved medieval cloister in Galicia. Within the cloister, the only existing Romanesque chapter house in Galicia is preserved, and it is one of the largest of its kind in Spain. Some of its goldsmithing was crafted by Jewish and converted silversmiths in the 15th and 16th centuries (the Gothic chalice, the coconut ciborium, the scepters, the aspersorium, etc.).
