Culture, Language, and Youth Councilor José López Campos attended one of the filming sessions for Lobo this week in Santiago's Obradoiro Square. The miniseries, from Vaca Films for Netflix, is receiving one of the grants from the Galician Government to attract audiovisual productions to our Community. Specifically, the project has a grant of 300,000 euros through the 2025 call for this fund, co-financed by the Ministry of Culture, Language, and Youth and the European Union under the Galicia Feder 2021-2027 program.Accompanied on this visit by the Director of the Galician Agency for Cultural Industries, Jacobo Sutil, the Secretary General congratulated the entire Vaca Films team, led by Emma Lustres and Borja Pena, and Diego Ávalos, Vice President of Netflix in Spain, Portugal, and Turkey, on this new audiovisual project, which will film in numerous locations across Galicia until May. In addition to Santiago de Compostela, filming will also take place in various locations in Courel, Celanova, Ribadavia, Sobrado dos Monxes, and Monfero, among others.

Psychological Thriller

Set in rural Galicia in the first half of the 19th century, this psychological thriller will recreate in six episodes the true story of Manuel Blanco Romasanta, the "Werewolf of Allariz" and the first documented serial killer in Spain, who is being portrayed by Luis Tosar. Alberto Marini, who co-wrote the screenplay with Juan Galiñanes, also directs it alongside Javier Rodríguez Delgado.

The actor from Lugo participated in the filming session this morning in the vicinity of the Cathedral of Santiago along with Luisa Mayol and Xosé Antonio Touriñán, among other well-known names who are part of the cast of Lobo. For his part, Tristán Ulloa plays the prosecutor leading the charge in this case, in which Romasanta claimed to be a werewolf, thus giving rise to a black legend.

Netflix has just announced the filming of Lobo as one of its major projects, with a release scheduled for next year. Also slated for 2026, its catalog includes the second season of Clanes, which was filmed last summer in Galicia with one of the grants from the Galician fund for attracting film productions.
