The director of the Axencia Galega das Industrias Culturais, Jacobo Sutil, participated today in the presentation of the eighth edition of New Cinemas International Film Festival of Pontevedra, which will take place from December 12 to 17 with 39 audiovisual pieces on the billboard. Of them, he especially highlighted the premieres of Galician productions, as well as the organization's commitment to the training section, so that both the opening film, A La búsqueda de la estrella, by Carlos Martínez-Peñalver, and the closing film, Cuando toco un animal, by Ángel Filgueira, went through the #LAB of the event in previous editions.
The representative of the Consellería de Cultura, Educación, FP y Universidades pointed out that this is one of the events that every year the Xunta de Galicia supports through the line of subsidies for this type of festivals, which in 2023 distributed 225,000 euros among 11 shows.
