The Government of Galicia is allocating 310,000 euros to the grant line for audiovisual sector festivals in 2026, a 3.3% increase over the current year, 2025, representing a continuation of the upward trend this support channel has been experiencing since its creation in 2014.

Thus, in accordance with the rules published on December 22 in the Official Gazette of Galicia", these grants can be applied for by both private individuals and legal entities, as well as local entities that organize festivals, competitions, weeks, or showcases with a minimum duration of four days and at least 20 screenings, and that have held a minimum of three consecutive editions in the immediately preceding years, among other requirements.

In this regard, through this call, the Galician Government contributes to the stability of the Galician circuit of professional film festivals that, by their characteristics, have strategic interest for the sector, as is the case in recent years with Play-Doc in Tui, the Cans Festival, (S8), and Intersección in A Coruña, FICBueu or Novos Cinemas in Pontevedra, among other events. The subsidized events demonstrate a great variety in their specialization in genres and formats, as well as their outstanding work as platforms for the latest Galician production and its professionals.

In addition, to promote the dissemination of Galician production, the call also states that the programming proposal must include five percent Galician-produced titles or five sessions of Galician cinematography and/or direction.A maximum contribution of 50,000 euros per project is established, with a limit of 30% of the eligible budget when the applicant is a local entity and 50% if it is a private entity. This percentage increases to 75% for joint local entities or those resulting from a merger.

Applications from interested individuals or entities must be submitted through the e-government portal of the Government of Galicia by January 22, 2026.
