The Monastery of San Xulián de Samos occupies a central position in the town, on the banks of the Sarria River. Founded by the Benedictine order in the Middle Ages, its monumental complex features buildings and elements of various architectural styles, primarily Renaissance, Gothic, and Baroque. Of considerable dimensions, it boasts two cloisters and an 18th-century Baroque church. This temple is one of the three monasteries that are still inhabited by monks in Galicia.
