Monforte de Lemos Railway Museum

The Galician Railway Museum (MUFERGA) opened its doors in 2001. It's situated in the former Renfe railway workshops, close to Monforte de Lemos station. The museum occupies the old steam locomotive traction and repair workshop, while a separate turntable shed stands about 600 meters behind it. Connected by an internal track, the shed boasts a horseshoe-shaped structure with thirty-eight radial tracks and a revolving transfer table. This table, once part of the old Monforte locomotive depot, allowed locomotives to pivot and change direction.
