Labor agreements in the audiovisual industry

The audiovisual industry and the main trade unions have national collective agreements that regulate labour relations between audiovisual production companies and workers. Community or company agreements may improve the conditions laid down in national agreements.

Collective agreement for the audiovisual production industry (technicians)

Signed in 2009. Regulates labour relations between audiovisual production companies with:

  • Technicians in productions whose primary exploitation is their exploitation in cinemas.

  • Technicians in productions whose primary exploitation is their exploitation in low-budget cinemas.

  • Technicians in productions whose primary exploitation is broadcast on a television system. 

Companies with their own agreements and short film productions are excluded.

Collective agreement for the audiovisual production industry (extras)

Signed in 2016. It regulates the labour relations between audiovisual production companies and the extras who provide their services to them. Filming where people appear as interviewees, guests and audiences, as well as work done for short films, are excluded.

III Collective Agreement for the audiovisual production industry (actors and actresses)

Signed in 2016. It regulates the labour relations between audiovisual production companies and the actors/actresses (including advertising actors/actresses) who provide their services to them. Work done for short films is excluded.

Collective agreement for the advertising companies sector

Signed in 2016. It regulates the labour relations in those companies that carry out one or more of the activities defined as advertising in article 2 of Law 34/1988, of 11 November, General Law on Advertising or regulation that replaces it.
